The workshop is organized by the Geophysical Institute, University of Bergen, and funded by the Research Council of Norway under the project “Atmosphere-Ocean Interaction” and the Norwegian Research School in Climate Dynamics. The workshop will be held at the Hotel Augustin in the centre of Bergen. Workshop organizer: Dr. Alastair D. Jenkins Topics covered and the programme: The workshop will cover the physics of the ocean surface and the adjacent atmospheric andoceanic boundary layers, including surface waves, turbulent fluxes of momentum, heat, and mass, heat and mass transport at a regional scale, observations and the interpretation of measurements of and in the sea surface and the boundary layers, relevant numerical modelling studies, and appropriate practical applications which may include ocean engineering and marine ecology.
