After five months of data collection at the German research platform FINO1, researchers from both CMR and the University of Bergen have started with the analysis of both the oceanographic and atmospheric data. In a first step, the data availability for all deployed instrumentation is checked and the data is quality controlled. This analysis will reveal possible potential issues with the installed instrumentation, which remained undiscovered so far (e.g., flow distortion issues, sea salt contamination, unexpected sensor drift, etc.). The analysis also gives the researcher the possibility to re-evaluate the positioning and scanning patterns of the installed LiDAR systems and the radiometer.
The measurement campaign will continue until September. You may read about the OBLEX-F1 campaign in our annual report.
