The Norwegian Motion Lab was opened on the 27th of November, with speeches from the all the parties involved in the realization of the laboratory: the University of Agder, the Research Council of Norway, NORCOWE and J.B. Ugland Eiendom AS.

The opening also included a demonstration run by PhD student Magnus Kjelland, where heave compensation was used when depositing an object onto the moving Stewart platform. A representative from Bosch Rexroth, the producer of the platform, was also present at the opening.
