Offshore Wind Farm Optimization Workshop
19. september 2013
- 20. september 2013
The Optimization Group of the Department of Informatics, University of Bergen, is pleased to invite to its first Offshore Wind Farm Optimization Workshop on the 19th and 20th of September.
We will investigate the optimization of offshore wind farm layout.
That is, we assume given:
- expected wind distributions,
- development options, that is, a set of potential turbines, cables and substations with their technical specifications and costs.
The objective is to identify the best layout in terms of turbine and substation positions and cable layout.
Invited speakers are:
Gunner Larsen, DTU Risø
Mario Mommer, Institute for Scientific Computing, University of Heidelberg Jens Lysgaard, Aarhus University
We start on Thursday 19th with lunch at 12 at the Department of Informatics, Thormøhlensgate 55. The afternoon is reserved for scientific presentations, with time for questions and discussion after each talk. We conclude Thursday with dinner.
On Friday, we would like to continue to exchange ideas on optimization of offshore wind farm layout, and to discuss and plan future activities and collaboration on this topic. We close with lunch.
Participation in the workshop is free of charge, including meals. If you are interested or have questions, please contact Joanna Bauer, joanna.bauer @ uib.no. We would like to close registration on Monday 9th.
The Optimization Group looks forward to an interesting workshop in Bergen.
